Webmail chatted to Moto Cross champ Brian Capper who is set to embark on his next challenge; the Sani2C Mountain Bike Event. This three stage event takes place in the heart of KwaZulu Natal where thousands of cyclists will traverse rough terrain from Glencairn Farm to Scottburgh Main Beach. This three day event will see teams of two cyclists tackle a technical course covering 82-99km a day. Brian Capper along with his teammate Nick de Wit will be embarking on this epic 265km challenge on Thursday 14th May.
Brian Capper and Nick de Wit have a long history together. Not only are they good friends and business partners, this dynamic duo are both sponsored by Redbull. Although this is their first crack at Sani2C, Capper and de Wit have many years of cycle under their belts. While they have used cycling as a form of cross training, this will be the first mountain biking event where they will be competing as a team.
Brian and Nick have been training for this particular event since January. While they are not concerned about the long distances that need to be completed each day, they plan to be sensible with their energy management. The team intend to race hard but as this is their first Sani2C they are taking a calculated approach to the race. We know the mad skills these guys have up their sleeves and there’s no doubt that these Redbull daredevils will have no issues navigating the technical aspects of the course.
We wish Brian and Nick the best of luck this weekend and look forward hearing how the event went!
